“There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.” ~Walt Streig

I enjoy walking around a shopping center near my home. Parents often bring their small children and I am entertained by their tendency to stare and make eye to eye contact…I usually return their eye contact and often nod my head in an amusing way while smiling…frequently I will be rewarded by their return smile…it feels precious to me for I know it will not be long before they will learn our social inhibition of not staring at people.

“There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.” ~Elizabeth Lawrence

I live across the street from a park with a playground for small children and there are benches circling around it…I enjoy watching the little ones excitingly running bare footed on the sand frequently falling down but quickly picking themselves up as if was all a playful dance…and then crawl up the ladder to the top of the slide for their joyous trip back down…when pushed on the swings they will hold on as tightly as they can for fear they may fly into space..I have often thought how little it takes for them to be filled with excitement and joy.
